Rental of School Facilities

Welcome to the Norwood Public Schools Rental of School Facilities web page. All forms and information pertaining to renting of our facilities are posted in this location. Rental classifications, rates, rules and regulations are included in the Application for Building and Facility Use (Rental) form.

The rental of school facilities is governed by the Rental Policy for School Facilities, approved and adopted by the Norwood School Committee, and in compliance with Massachusetts General Law Chapter 71, Section 71.

Norwood Public Schools Asbestos Management (AHERA)

This notification is required by the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA, 40. CFR part763 of Title II of the toxic substances control act).

Environmental Remediation Services, Inc. (RES) has been engaged by the Norwood Public School District to generate and maintain the school department’s six-month and three-year AHERA plans and subsequent re-inspections.  The licensed inspector has concluded that all asbestos containing materials throughout the schools, and all suspect asbestos containing materials, are currently in good condition and do not pose a health risk to building occupants. Please click on this link for a copy of the most recent AHERA update letters.

Asbestos Management Plans have been developed for the Norwood Public Schools.  Each building’s plans are available and can be viewed at the Buildings & Grounds Office at the Savage Center during normal business hours. Questions concerning the AHERA plan should be addressed to the Director of Buildings & Grounds, who is the designated person for AHERA matters at (781) 440-5830.
