Dear Parents/Guardians: In the next few weeks, some of your sons/daughters will be looking for academic or enrichment courses to take during the summer months this year. I am pleased to announce that our Summer Academy 2013 will run down at the air conditioned Coakley Middle School location this summer. Afternoon daycare will be available until 6pm, at an additional cost (based on adequate enrollment and funding) for each of the 19 days the Summer Academy will run this year. I am also very pleased to announce that for the seventh consecutive year, the tuition will remain frozen at $208 per course. I understand the financial hardship that most Norwood families are facing at this time, and via strong financial management and leadership, I am pleased that we are able to keep our tuition frozen for the sixth consecutive year. I am also very pleased to announce that through a partnership with the Norwood Recreation Department, under our Learn and Swim package, children attending our Summer Academy at the Coakley Middle School will be able to go directly to the Hawes Camp located at the Hawes Pool area at noon, for each of the 19 days of our Summer Academy. Supervision will be provided after noon by members of the Norwood Summer Academy staff. Pickup time for children participating in the Learn and Swim package at the Coakley Middle School is 6pm. The entire cost of the Learn and Swim package for 19 days will be $501 (yes, that is correct, your children can go to school from 8:30 am to noon in our ESL/Elementary Academy for Grades 1 through 6, then swim from noon to 6pm for each of the 19 days of our Summer Academy, for only $501 per child). The Norwood Summer Academy Program is tuition driven, and all course offerings are offered subject to adequate funding and enrollment, so please be sure to register early! Please note that our Summer Academy will run for a total of 19 days: Monday through Thursday, from July 8th through Wednesday August 7th at noon. 8:30 am to noon each day. No Summer School on Fridays. *** Please note that you must register for our Afternoon Daycare, and pay in full, by 5pm on Friday June 14th, in order to be guaranteed a slot. Afternoon Daycare applications received after 5pm on Friday June 14th will not be accepted. Please keep in mind that you can also drop off your registrations at the Main Office at Norwood High School, any business day, from 8am to 2:30 pm.
