Norwood Extended Day

Program Overview

Norwood’s Extended Day services are a branch within Norwood Public Schools offering before and after school childcare to youth in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Our morning program is held at Norwood’s five elementary schools: Prescott, Oldham, Callahan, Cleveland, and Balch, with one Kindergarten Program at the Willet Early Education Center and runs from 7:30-8:30 AM.

Our afterschool program is offered to students in first through third grade at the Cleveland School and Kindergarten through Fifth Grade at the James R. Savage Center in Norwood. Except for the Cleveland students in grades 1-3, all others are bussed by NPS to the Savage Center for pick up at a central location. Programming is hosted from the time busses arrive from each school until 6:00p nightly. In addition, we offer summer camp, vacation Care coverage, and services beginning at 12:30p on early release days.

Extended Day Mission

Norwood Extended Day welcomes parents, family members and caretakers to join us in our efforts to facilitate a warm, culturally responsive environment that recognizes the individual contributions of every child in our program. It is the mission of Norwood Extended Day to provide a space for students to learn and grow. Norwood Extended Day facilitates this through the commitment of its teachers and administrators for K-5th by coaching youth and providing ample opportunities for social engagement and experiential enrichment.
