Fourth Grade Page

Fourth Grade students at the Balch Elementary School research Extreme Weather events for their Big Six research project. We discuss the research process and questions for research, and we practice note-taking before the book and online research begins. The classroom teacher also guides the students through the research process during class time and then through the report writing process. See the Internet Research guidelines for help in using the Elementary Library webpage and online resources from home.

They continue to be able to take out two books each week providing they return their books, or one book if they have returned one. This is an important year for expanding their reading choices and choosing books that stretch their vocabulary and reading skills. Please encourage them to take time to read each day!!
