Third Grade Page

Third Grade students at the Balch Elementary School research a famous Massachusetts citizen for their Big Six research project. We discuss the research process and questions for research, and we practice notetaking before the book and online research begins. The classroom teacher guides the students through the report writing process and creating their presentation and report. They continue to be able to take out two books each week providing they return their books, or one book if they have returned one. This is an important year for expanding their reading choices and choosing books that stretch their vocabulary and reading skills. Please encourage them to take time to read each day!!
