Keyboarding - learning to type on a keyboard using the proper fingering from the HOME ROW- is an important skill that can be taught at a young age. Students often teach themselves to do "hunt and peck" typing which decreases their speed and accuracy, unless they are shown how to use proper fingering. The first grade class page has some ideas for first and second graders, but for students aged 7 and up there is a free online program that can teach these skills more completely, in a fun and easy-to-follow manner. It was created by the British Broadcasting Corporation and has no pop-up adds to deal with. Click on the link above and have fun typing!
