Superintendent Search Final Update

The School Committee voted unanimously, on February 7, 2024, to offeer Mr. Timothy Luff the role of Norwood's next Superintendent of Schools.  Mr. Luff accepted the position and the School Committee has entered into contract negotiations for a July 1st start date.

Mr. Luff has served in his current District since 2012, serving as Director of Student Services, Assistant Superintendent, and currently the Deputy Superintendent. He has also served as an Assistant Director of Special Services and a special education teacher. He earned a Master of Science Degree from the University of Maine and is enrolled in an Executive Juris Doctorate from Perdue Law School.

We would like to thank all who participated in the search process. Whether by serving on the screening committee, filling out input surveys, attending focus groups and meet-the candidates or filling out the feedback survey, these contributions were invaluable in guiding the process forward.

 

Three Finalists Chosen for the Position of Superintendent of the Norwood Public Schools 

Twenty-five candidates submitted packages for the position of Superintendent of Schools in Norwood. The Norwood Superintendent Search Committee reviewed all the applications, and after a series of preliminary interviews and discussion, voted to submit the following candidates to the School Committees for consideration as the next Superintendent. The candidates (listed in alphabetical order) are:
 
Meg Dussault, Ed.D.; Assistant Superintendent for Equity and Engagement, Sharon Public Schools, Sharon, MA
Dr. Dussault has been in her current position since July 2021. She has served the Sharon Public Schools as the Acting Superintendent (9/2020-6/2021), Director of Visual and Performing Arts, and Director of Community Education. She was a teacher at Brockton High School from 200-2006. She earned a Masters Degree at Rhode Island College and a Doctorate in Education from Northeastern University in 2020.
 
Timothy M. Luff, Deputy Superintendent of Schools, Natick Public Schools, Natick, MA
Mr. Luff has served in his current District since 2012, serving as Director of Student Services, Assistant Superintendent, and currently the Deputy Superintendent. He has also served as an Assistant Director of Special Services and a special education teacher. He earned a Master of Science Degree from the University of Maine and is enrolled in an Executive Juris Doctorate from Perdue Law School.
 
Priya Tahiliani, Superintendent, Everett Public Schools, Everett, MA
Ms. Tahiliani has been in her current position since March 2020. Her previous positions include Executive Director then Assistant Superintendent Office of English Learners, Assessment of Accountability Coordinator, and ELA Teacher
all in the Boston Public Schools. She earned a Masters Degree at Harvard University and is enrolled in a Doctor of Education program at the University of Phoenix.
 

The schedule for Site Visits to Norwood and Interviews with the School Committee is as follows:

Thursday, February 1st: Each candidate visits Norwood
Norwood Public Schools will host each candidate as they visit three of our schools in the morning where they will have the opportunity to engage with students and staff

On the afternoon of February 1st, there will be three meet-the-candidates sessions at Norwood High School.
Meet-the-candidates sessions are open for any students, staff or community members to attend.

4:00-5:30 PM: Students and Staff
The locations of the groups are as follows:
Students will be in Room 106
Staff will be in the GSU Lecture Hall

6:00-7:30 PM: Parents and Community Members
Community Members will be in the NHS library

Saturday, February 3rd:  One hour interview at the Savage Center

Snow Date for interviews Tuesday, February 6, 2024 starting at 6:00 pm

Monday, February 5th:
Interviews will be available via NCM video on-demand as well as air this evening. 

Tuesday, February 6th: 
Those that participate in the visits, “meet-the-candidates”, or watch the interviews can  participate in a feedback survey which will be shared with the School Committee. The survey will close on Tuesday at 4:00pm.  

Wednesday, February 7th, 7:00pm:
School Committee business meeting including finalist deliberation and vote
