Meet the Librarian

My name is Mrs. Duca-Johnson (Mrs. D-J) and this is my 3rd year at Coakley Middle School. I am originally from Southern Maine where I grew up near the train tracks in a small town with no traffic lights. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Saint Joseph's College of Maine, and a Masters Degree in Library Science from Simmons University. While substituting between my two degrees I fell in love with Middle Schoolers and knew that was where I belong.

I love reading and writing fan fiction and knitting. I am re-learning how to crochet and have taken on the challenge of making enough knit and crocheted squares to actually finish an blanket. Lastly, I am known to have a quirky some what dry sense of humor that I blame on my parents. It's hereditary.

I currently live here in  Norwood with my wife, two stepsons and our crazy cat Snickers who thinks he is a dog. I love living so close to where I work and often walk to and from the school.

This year I have hung up a poster in the library of the Top 100 Books to Read and would love your help in choosing what to read next. Please put your recommendations in the container on the book shelf near Ms. Riley's office.

If you have any questions or need to reach me please email me at bducajohnson@norwood.k12.ma.us
