Mike Downs has been working with our fifth graders on forces, gravity, and man-made protective devices. Our 52 fifth graders each designed and constructed capsules out of different materials. Some added man-made parachutes out of bags or balloons. The idea was to protect an egg (not hard boiled) from breaking. Mike and Dave Goss (custodian) dropped all of the containers from the roof of the school, which is 30 feet high. 21 out of the 52 eggs didn't break. Several parents were here to watch it with us.
