Students and staff brought in their extra Halloween candy to show appreciation for our U.S. Service members. Letters of appreciation were also sent.
School Nurse Teri Abely noted that as part of the initiative, the school raised over $200.00 which went towards adding toothbrush and toothpaste packages and helping to defray shipping costs.
School Council members met to sort, pack and ready 21 boxes which held over 220 pounds of candy.
The donated items will be dispersed to Veterans Affairs and rehabilitation facilities. Another 30 pounds of candy were distributed to local food pantries.
