2019-2020 School Year Information

2019-2020 School Year Information

Here are a few important links and reminders as we start the year off!

Enrollment: If you are new to the Prescott community and wish to enroll, please send Principal Bryan Riley an email at briley@norwood.k12.ma.us. In person enrollment begins on Monday August 26th between 9am-2pm. It is critical that you review the enrollment guidelines here prior to coming in.

School Supplies: If you are looking to get a jump on suggested supply lists, they can be found here. If you are unable to purchase any of the supplies, for any reason, please don't worry, we will have plenty of extra on hand for your child.

Lunch Accounts: Our Food Services Department handles the serving of breakfast (starting at 8:25am-8:45am) and lunch to students. Cash is not accepted in our main office, so please check out MySchoolBucks linked here or speak with Ms. Greeley or Ms. Hernon in the cafeteria.

Reduced Lunch Online Application: Can be found here. Please be sure to fill this out ASAP so that your child can be setup on the free lunch system.

Bus Transportation: If your child lives outside of 2 miles from the Prescott, or you would like to purchase a bus pass for the 2019-2020 school year, you must visit the Norwood Public Schools bus transportation homepage. The transportation office will provide the Prescott staff a list of students and their buses prior to the start of the school year. Changes to bus assignments must be worked out directly witih the transportation office. Additionally, if your child does not receive their hard pass right away, please don't worry as it does take some time to process.

Extended Day: Online registration is closed for after school Extended Day. Please check here for additional information on who to contact with question.

Records Requests: If your child is coming to the Prescott from another district, it's critical that you provide them with a release of information (call former school and fill out the form) so that we can access your child's records.

Creating an ASPEN (Student Information System) Account: Aspen is where you can sign the handbook online, check student teacher assignments and see absences. There are two parts. First, you must create a new account. Click here to learn how to. Second, you can take a tour here to see how to use it. Mr. Riley will send out "Handbook Workflow Instructions" once the elementary handbooks are up online.

Popsicles with the Principal: Please join us on Tuesday August 27th from 6pm-7pm for an informal "Popsicles with the Principal" event on the front playground here at the Prescott. The event is sponsored by the Prescott PTO. It's a great opportunity to meet other families and some of the Prescott staff!
