How do I find my book?
Fiction (stories) are in the library, alphabetically by the author's last name. The sticker will start with FIC, PB FIC, or J, plus the first three letters of the author's last name. (We're working on making these all say FIC, but it's taking a while as we have over 3,000 fiction books!)
Comics and Graphic Novels are labeled "GN" with either the first three letters of the author's last name (if it's fiction) or a Dewey call number (if it's nonfiction). Fiction comics have the red sticker shown on the left; nonfiction has the green sticker. All the comics are shelved together.
Nonfiction (things that are true) is shelved using the Dewey Decimal System. This system organizes the books by category. These call numbers are written on the spine of a book. For more information about the Dewey Decimal System and what the numbers mean, visit our Dewey page under "Research Help."
