Homework Policy

Each night, your child will bring home a homework folder (Grades 1-3) and an agenda book (Grade 3 only).  Throughout the year, the homework folder and agenda book are valuable home/school communication tools used to discuss concerns about student progress. Homework is assigned weekly Monday-Thursday and will consist of  Math and Reading. On occasion, depending on the grade level, additional subjects, such as, Science and Social Studies are given to support the curriculum.

Students in Grades 1-2, will have phonics and spelling homework weekly that coordinates with their individualized program. Parent letters are sent home with every unit in order to provide information about the new concepts and skills taught in the classroom. With this information, parents are encouraged to become their child's reading "Coach". Together, we will foster a foundation and encourage reading in a positive way. Reading and/ or listening to a story nightly is suggested for all grade levels.
