Current PE Units
September 2015 - Welcome back to school. We are excited to have you back and can't wait for 2014/15 year. We will start the year with our initial fitness testing. After collecting results students will compare their results to the averages for kids their age. After this comparison students will set goals for themselves to meet when we retest in the spring. When we are not doing our first unit we will start our first unit - Soccer or Football student choice of activities. We will focus on skill and development , rules and involving every team member regardless of current level of experience.
Homework: At least 30 min of activity each day
October: Soccer and Football, and ultimate frisbee: focus on team defending and person to person defense
November: Cooperative Games and Tchoukball: Focusing on teamwork, communication and team building
December: Basketball, Focusing on teamwork and skills and drills
January 2016: Floor Hockey, Proper use of equipment and learning how to pass and shoot as well as stick handling
February: Challenge Unit, Students work on achieving many different challenges around the gym focusing on personal best.
March: Volleyball, Focusing on skill development. Dance; Incorporating movement
April: Pickle ball, Ping Pong, Badminton, racket sports: Lifetime activities which students will learn skills for
May: Complete Year end Fitness gram testing to see improvement
June: Choice of Activities, Disc Golf, Golf, or walking group
