Classroom Expectations

Pre Algebra
Mr. Famiglietti
Room 103

Beginning of Class:

Upon entering the class all students should report to their assigned seat. Every student should then have a pencil and paper out to complete problems. Usually to begin class there is a prompt or review on the board. Students are expected to begin the problems and do their best. Homework should be readily available as I usually check homework during this period of time.

During Class:

The expectations of school are completely followed. There is no gum chewing nor is food allowed in class unless it is a preapproved event.  Students will be grouped often for class activities. Each student will be grouped with every student in the class during the year. All students are expected to be inviting and work in a cooperative environment.  Please ask questions. This will help others with the same question as you.

Homework:

Homework is given on a daily basis. It is expected to be returned the day it is due. If you forget your assignment, half credit will be awarded if it is turned in the next day. All homework assignments are posted online at the school’s website, under homework link.

Grading:

  • 40% tests
  • 30% quizzes
  • 15% Classwork Activities and Learning
  • 15% Homework

Topics Covered:

Integer operations, rational numbers, expressions, equations, inequalities, ratios, proportions, percents, scale drawings, constructions, circles, area, surface area, volume, probability, and statistics.
