January Update
Good evening Mustang Families,
I hope this message finds you rested and rejuvenated for 2016, even though we were greeted by single digit weather before any of us were ready. This time of year, things move really fast, and June’s graduation will be here before you know it. Here are some important updates for this month.
NHS Curriculum Night and Open House – Wednesday January 13th - 6:30pm-8:00pm NHS auditorium
This event is open to current and prospective students and families that will be attending Norwood High School for the 2016-2017 school year. The evening will begin with a brief overview of the Norwood High School Program of Studies and discussion on graduation requirements. Each Department Head will provide an overview of the course of study for students at the school. Immediately after the presentation, the Department Heads will be available on the first floor for follow up conversations and discussions about course offerings. Athletic teams and NHS clubs will be available in the cafeteria for prospective students to visit and gather information. In the event of inclement weather, the event will have a cancellation date of Wednesday January 20th,same start time and location.
Mid-Term Exams – Thursday January 21st – Tuesday, January 26th
Post Prom Party Committee – Help Needed!
The Post Prom Party is a long-standing tradition and a point of pride for the Norwood community that serves to keep students safe on prom night. Students create lasting memories with their classmates and peers as their high school careers come to a close. The committee is in need of more volunteers to help plan and carry out this year's party. Meetings are 1-2 Mondays per month. Parents and students of all grades are welcome. FoVA Bertucci's Fundraiser Jan 12 from 4-8pm

Patriot Place Gallery Show at Artist's Studio & Gallery Jan 22-24
Come see over 35 pieces of NHS' student artwork in a professional gallery. The students' work will be exhibited along with professional artists at the Artist's Studio & Gallery in Patriot Place. We will have a opening reception with light refreshments on January 22 from 5-7pm. Come support the Visual Arts and see the students' accomplishments. The gallery will be open on Fri, Jan 22 from 5-9, Sat, Jan 23 from 1-9pm and Sun, Jan 24 from 12-6pm. For more details, please visit;

Norwood High School PTO Meeting - Tuesday January 12th @6:30 - NHS Library - Open to any parent of an NHS students. Topics and agenda to be published by Norwood High's PTO - this is a great forum to learn about all of the latest trends at NHS.
The "I am Malala" screening is being postponed from January 14, 2016 until March, 2016! We are looking at some dates and will keep you posted!
1pm Dismissal - Friday January 15th - Just a reminder that NHS will dismiss at 1pm this Fridayfor professional dvelopment.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day - Monday January 18th
