Hello Mustang families,
May is easily one of the busiest months in a school year, and you will see that evidenced by the robust information below. In addition to the regular flow of teaching and learning, May features state wide and national assessments, student events, and award ceremonies. While I am hesitant to overwhelm you with too much information, I hope that having all of these items at your fingertips will help that nothing sneaks up on you or goes unnoticed.
I will be sending a separate email to families of seniors with information about senior events.

Guidance News
Textile Recycling Bins
If you are in the process of a move, or are looking to do some spring cleaning, please consider dropping off your clean and unused textiles to one of the bins around the Norwood Public Schools property. The school's each receive a portion of the proceeds, as the company is able to recycle and re-purpose these textiles for re-use. Norwood High School earned over $800 this last year alone!
Student Employment and Work Permits
As the summer approaches and our students are looking to acquire a tidy sum (to undoubtedly stash away in a savings account) please review the documents from the Commonwealth’s Attorney General’s Office, regarding guidelines and discussion points for student jobs and employment. There is a version in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

To make it a success, we need lots of parent volunteers (particularly from our underclassmen parents). Please consider helping out for a couple of hours...it’s fun and easy. Bring a friend. We need help during three shifts: Midnight to 3 am. 3-5 am. 5-8 am (clean-up).
Let Alison Boyce know what shift you are available to help out with. Her email is alison62@msn.com. Thank you.
