Hello Mustang families,
I wanted to make you aware that we will be hosting the second of what we hope will be a series of ongoing conversations about race and culture at Norwood High School on Wednesday, November 29th at 7:00pm in the NHS Library. You are still welcome to attend even if you could not make the last dialogue on October 3rd. At this meeting, we will watch a short 5 minute video called 'Silent Beats', and update the community on the work the NHS staff has done on implicit bias with the Anti-Defamation League and Professor William Rodriguez on the past two professional development days. Additionally, there are some students leading work on civil discourse at NHS, and they would like to share their thoughts and solicit your input as well.
Our goals are to share our learning on Cultural Proficiency with the community to better align our work with your important dialogues at home, as well as invite your feedback and input for next steps as we seek to make Norwood High School an inclusive learning environment for all students.
Thank you for your attention to this important dialogue, and I look forward to seeing you there.
Hoping you have an enjoyable Thanksgiving!
