About Me

My name is Laura Tolman and I have been teaching at the Willett Early Childhood Center since 2002. I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education in 1992 from Westfield State College and a Masters Degree in Severe Special Needs from Boston College in 1994. I have worked with children for over 20 years in a variety of capacities. I was a teacher for children with severe special needs at the Campus School in Chestnut Hill. I also taught Kindergarten and grade three special education students in the Walpole Public School System. Before joining the Norwood Public Schools, I was a director of a corporate childcare center operated by ChildrenFirst. At ChildrenFirst, I worked on various committees to develop thematic curriculum units, which were shared among the different childcare centers in this national company.  I have worked with a variety of learners over the years including children with PDD-NOS, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, language processing delays, Down Syndrome, and learning disabilities.
