Our Daily Schedule

This is how a typical day is run in our classroom. While the times may change, our day is split up into chunks of time to allow for opportunities to develop skills in all areas.

Morning Session
8:30-11:00

  • 8:30 – 9:15 - Free Choice/Clean Up
  • 9:15 – 9:30 - Morning Circle/Calendar/Choose Jobs for Day
  • 9:30 – 10:00
    • Station 1: Language Based Activity on rug
      (Story retellings, sequencing activities, phonemic awareness activities, counting and number games, etc.)
    • Station 2: Fine Motor activity at the table
      (This is typically an art activity related to our theme that incorporates skills focusing on hand-eye coordination, pre-writing skills, sequencing, hand strengthening, etc.)
  • 10:00 – 10:10 - Songs, word play, letter/sound activities
    (We incorporate songs, poems, and fingerplays  to go along with the theme we are working on. We’ll use this time to play rhyming games and as well as other games that help foster familiarity with letter sounds and symbols.)
  • 10:10 – 10:30 - Gross Motor (gym or playground)
  • 10:30 – 10:45 - Bathroom, handwashing, snack time
  • 10:45 – 11:00 - Goodbye Circle (story, songs, goodbye)

Afternoon Session
12:00-2:30

  • 12:00 - 12:45 - Free Choice/Clean-Up
  • 12:45 - 1:00 - Circle Time/Calendar/Choose Jobs for the Day
  • 1:00 – 1:30
    • Station 1: Language Based Activity on rug
