Message From the Principal
On behalf of everyone at Willett & LMPA, I would like to welcome all families to our early childhood learning communities! My name is Michael Baulier, and I am entering my first year as the proud Principal of the George F. Willett Early Childhood Center and Little Mustangs Preschool Academy. I have been an educator for fourteen years, and this marks my sixth year as a principal. Before joining Norwood Public Schools, I was principal of the Mozart Elementary School, a Boston Public School located in Roslindale. As a school leader, I am committed to collaborating with staff, students, and families to lead change so all of our students have access to an inclusive and equitable education.
The Little Mustangs Preschool Academy (LMPA) houses six integrated preschools, and a Practical Application of Skills (PACS) classroom for preschoolers. The Willett Early Childhood Center houses thirteen full-day kindergarten classes. Our enrollment is approximately 400 students ages 3-6. Educators at the Willett and LMPA are highly skilled at planning and implementing positive learning experiences for all students. Our goal is for all classrooms to serve as nurturing environments where students grow socially, emotionally, and academically. We invite all families to engage with our educators, join Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) events, and support at-home learning with reinforcement of literacy and numeracy skills.
Please note that starting this fall, 2022, the hours of the kindergarten student day at the Willett School will officially be from 8:10 am to 1:40 pm. Please click here for information that shares information for the start time for all of our Norwood Schools.
We understand the extraordinary responsibility of our early educator roles as you, their families, entrust us to provide a safe and supportive educational experience for your children. Pre-K and K is not only an introduction to Norwood Public Schools, but also an introduction to K-12 education. Together, our collective efforts can foster and empower critical thinkers, problem solvers, innovators, and leaders who are equipped with the knowledge and skills to enact positive change in our community, nation, and world.
If you have any questions prior to the first day of school, please feel free to contact the school at (Willett) 781-762-6805 and (LMPA) 781-440-5802 or reach out to me at mbaulier@norwood.k12.ma.us. Thank you for the privilege to serve your children.
Michael L. Baulier, Principal
