Road Trip

Mr. Norton, A life long resident of Norwood died last week. He was 96 years old and lived a long, happy life. He had one regret. He never traveled outside of Massachusetts!  He always wanted to see our beautiful country but he never was able to. Unfortunately, it is too late for him, but it not too late for you.  Mr. Norton has donated $1,500 to be given to the team that plans the best road trip. You and a friend will compete against the rest of the class for the money.

Your Task:

You and a classmate are going on a week long road trip. You need to decide where you are going, how to get there, where to stay and what to see when you get there. You will create a PowerPoint presentation about your destination. Your presentation should include a budget of all your expenses and an itinerary of the places you will visit.

Process:

You will work with a partner. One of you will be the travel agent and the other will be the event planner. See the "Online Activities" link to the left for more information about each role. Together you will decide:

1. Where will you go?

2. Create a powerpoint presentation about your destination. Your slideshow should contain the following:

• Facts about your chosen state - 3 slides
  • Capital
  • State's nickname
  • State Flag
  • State Motto
  • Size
  • Population
  • Points of Interest about your location - 4 to 5 slides
  • Historical/Interesting Facts - 3 to 4 slides
