During the summer of 2020 the Norwood Public Schools will offer an exciting NEW array of enrichment courses that will run between July 6 to August 13th (Monday-Thursdays only).

Summertime should be a time of exploration and new learning, and our exciting new enrichment courses will keep the young minds in your house active all summer long! Most courses run for two hours at a time, and some courses will run for two or more consecutive days. Whether your interest is in creative writing, STEM, learning how your car works, or getting in shape, we have what you are looking for!

Mindful Movement & Yoga for Kids 

Let’s get our Yoga on!!! This class will incorporate movement and cardiovascular conditioning with the stress-relieving components of traditional yoga. We will be moving and grooving to fun music, practicing traditional yoga poses and flows, and strengthening our muscles.

Contemporary Chorus

Do you love to sing? It doesn’t matter if you have a fantastic voice or if you are developing your vocal talents: This class offers an opportunity to work together in a small group, memorize 2-3 contemporary songs (from the latest hip-hop to country music) and develop a choreography for each. Whether you like center stage or supporting from the sides, this class has a space for you!

Coding Carnival: building carnival-style games with electronics and computer code

Using littleBits coding kits and recyclables like cardboard, we will design, build, and code carnival-style target games. Students will learn some of the basics of computer code such as variables, if/then logic and inputs/outputs. We will close the week with a carnival competition, playing each other’s games!
