The Norwood School Committee officially approved the FY27 Budget Book on March 25, 2026. This $67,222,432 spending plan represents a 2.96% increase over the previous year and focuses on supporting elementary redistricting and curriculum updates. The budget process now moves to the final stage for local approval at the Annual Town Meeting in May. Legal Notice: Public Hearing on School Choice May 6, 2026 at 7:05 PM during School Committee Meeting
On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 7:05 P.M. the Norwood School Committee will be conducting a public hearing to discuss School Choice as outlined in the Education Reform Act of 1993 at the James R. Savage Educational Center, 275 Prospect Street, Norwood, MA in the School Committee Room. All school systems as of July 1, 1994 must participate in School Choice unless the School Committee votes to withdraw.
The school district’s FY27 Proposed Budget Booklet is now available for public review. We encourage all community members to examine the proposal ahead of our upcoming public budget hearing to stay informed on our fiscal priorities for the next school year.

The Norwood School Committee will hold a Public Budget Hearing on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 7:05 P.M. at the James R. Savage Education Center, 275 Prospect Street, Norwood, MA 02062. Public can access the hearing in person at the Savage Center or live via NCM on cable and online as it is live-streamed. Due to the impacts from this storm, and to provide our DPW and facilities departments adequate time to safely clear the roads, sidewalks, and school parking lots, the Norwood Public Schools and all Offices will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, February 24, 2026. All afterschool activities will be canceled with the exception of the following: Drama Fest Competition Rehearsal, Jazz Rehearsal, and all High School Athletics. These activities will be held as scheduled.
