Beginning on Monday April 5, 2021, gaiters will no longer be permitted, and we will be encouraging everyone to double mask in accordance with the CDC recommendations. Please know that these changes are in consideration of the closer seating and larger numbers in our buildings. The School Committee voted to shift the school start times in the September of 2022. The approximate times are in these slides but we will also examine bus runs next year to see if the elementary start could be pushed back a little more. Click the headline for the presentation.

In preparation for the School Committee meeting on March 10, 2021, the Task Force is sharing the results of the parent surveys completed in February 2021, the second FAQ that answers the questions which we received via the contact form, and a document that addresses the benefits and concerns of the proposal. The School Committee will discuss and vote on this initiative on March 10.

The School Committee and the District have been researching school start times, health, well being, and academics of all students preK-12th grade since spring 2017. A district-wide Task Force has been working comprehensively on this initiative since 2018. The Task Force will be presenting to the School Committee on January 13, 2021 with recommendations on school start times. Please consider joining these virtual parent meetings to share concerns, strategies and ideas to help your family during this stressful time. Monday sessions are primarily for issues facing BIPOC (black, indigenous and people of color) parents. As parents we often place our own needs behind those of our children. Please consider taking advantage of an hour for yourself that will let you know you are not alone, connect with other parents and hopefully lift your spirits.

Individuals should stay within their household: For a lower-risk celebration, people should limit in-person holiday gatherings to only people they live with or limit the gathering to a small group of individuals with whom they are regularly in contact. Avoid travel: Anyone considering travel should review and abide by Massachusetts travel orders, and people who want to travel to another state that is not a lower-risk state should be aware of the quarantine requirements involved with such travel.
