Mental Health and Wellness Resources
*MacLean: Leaders in Youth Mental Health Talk on Wednesday, April 15th, 12:00PM-1:00PM. Zoom links, presenter information and learning objectives can be found here.
Topic: Making the Unknown Known: Supporting Kids & Teens with Autism - Presenters: Laura Mead, MSEd & Karen Steves, MS
*Culturally Responsive Student and Caregiver Educational Resources (CRESCER): Far too many children and adolescents are struggling with mental health issues, and English language learners experience greater challenges in accessing mental health resources compared to English speaking individuals and families. Given the pivotal role parents and caregivers play in supporting youth, we at McLean Hospital School Consultation Service (SCS) have created short strategy focused educational videos for caregivers that speak Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese (the second and third most spoken languages in MA). Our hopes are that these resources will help caregivers better understand common youth mental health concerns and feel more empowered with tips on how to support their children through difficult experiences.
