SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES

Each year, school counselors receive notification about summer programs, courses, etc. so we wanted to make you aware of these options as we hear about them. Please see below for various opportunities.

*JWU summer Cooking Camps are back and we are excited!   Registration is OPEN!  Johnson & Wales summer program:   https://www.jwu.edu/admissions/welcome/summer-at-jwu/providence.html

*RPI School of Architecture - Career Discovery Program - This program is for high school students entering 10th, 11th or 12th grade in the fall who are interested in future careers in architecture or design-related fields and curious about the world are encouraged to apply.  There is an in-person session and an online session.  Click here for more information.

*UMass Amherst Sports Broadcasting - Are you a student who is thinking about a career in sports?  When you sign up for our Sports Broadcasting program you'll learn everything you need to know about what goes into sports broadcasting, on and off the air.  Students will get a chance to produce their own show, step behind the mic, work a camera and everything in between.  Click here for more information and to apply.

*Lebanon Valley College Summer Opportunities - 

Actuary Program:  An actuary uses mathematical and financial tools to help identify and manage risk, so it's a great career for students who are mathematically strong but not necessarily interested in teaching. For more than 30 years we've run a one-week residential summer camp for rising high school seniors to help them decide if they want to pursue actuarial work. Computer Programming with AI:  Our week-long, immersive computer programming with AI summer camp is designed for rising high school juniors and seniors who want to explore the future of technology and discover whether a career in computer programming or data science is right for them. *UMass Amherst Veterinary Technology Summer Pre-College program:  The Veterinary Technology Summer Pre-College program invites rising junior and senior high school students to work with faculty from the UMass Veterinary Technology Program to discover various aspects of the Veterinary profession and the role of the veterinary technician within the larger context of veterinary medicine and animal care.   Click here for more information. 

*Bryant University Precollege Economics Program:  Learn to apply economics to affect social change.  Experience college life. Learn basic and advanced economics.  Develop data analysis skills.  Analyze current policy issues.  Engage with Bryan University faculty.  Click here for more information.

*West Point — Summer Leaders Experience:  Led by current West Point cadets, Summer Leaders Experience (SLE) is a five-day immersion into a West Point cadet's academic, military, and social life. SLE is for rising high school seniors who are interested in learning more about West Point and the qualities required to succeed as a cadet. SLE takes place the summer between your junior and senior year. High school juniors should apply between 15 February and 15 April of their junior year. To apply, complete the initial portion of the West Point application (Step 3 in our Steps to Admission) and then the SLE checklist.  Click here for details.

*Plan International USA's Youth Leadership Academy:   This is a year-long fellowship that equips young activists with the skills and support to make a meaningful impact.  As part of the fellowship, you will participate in a week-long summer residential academy in D.C  Please click here to find out more information and to apply.

*Babson College Summer Study for High School-  Babson Summer Study is a 3-week experiential program for rising high school juniors and seniors, designed to help you develop an entrepreneurial mindset and become an innovator and changemaker.    Click here to find out more information.

*Stanford University Summer Institute:  The SI program is only open to students currently in grade 8-11, and who will be older than 13 years old, and younger than 19 years old during the program dates.
