College/Post-Secondary Planning
Senior Seminars: During Term 1, students will work on resumes, applications, college essays etc. with assistance of school counselors. Senior Seminar runs one time per cycle. Students will have 7-8 lessons throughout term one.
TEC College Fair: Westwood High School. March 25, 2026 @ 6:00
Individual College Meetings: Students meet and communicate frequently with their counselors while determining post-secondary plans.
Senior College Planning Night: The NHS School Counseling staff invites senior parents and students to join us for a presentation on the college application and admissions process. Our staff will review the college process and answer any questions you may have. Financial Aid Night: Parents and students are invited to attend a free seminar on paying for college on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at 6:00pm. An experienced representative from MA Educational Financing Authority (MEFA) will provide an overview of the financing process, including different types of financial aid, the application process, and determining financing options for your family. Junior Year
Junior College Planning Night: Thursday, January 29, 2026 @ 6:30pm (virtual)
Junior Seminars: Term 4, students will work on post-secondary planning research with the help of school counselors. Students will use Naviance to update resumes, complete college searches, view scattergrams etc.
Junior Course Selections: March, 2026 - Juniors meet individually with school counselors to review senior year courses and review the college planning timeline.
Parent/Guardian Meetings: March, 2026 - Junior parents/guardians are encouraged to sign up for individual counselor meetings to discuss the post-secondary planning process.
