History of Norfolk County, Massachusetts, 1622 - 1918 Pertinent information about Native Americans in New England, the people who emigrated to New England, the settlements and charters given to groups here, and detailed reports of living conditions. Chapter XXVI specifically looks at the Town of Norwood, but do remember that Norwood was originally part of Dedham.

Norwood Historical Society at the Day House
The Norwood Historical Commission considers its duty to promote the educational, cultural, economic and general welfare of the public through the preservation and protection of the distinctive characteristics of buildings and places
significant in the history of Norwood.
The Norwood Historical Society is the repository of information about Norwood's history.
Founded in 1907, the goals and objectives of the Norwood Historical Society are:
Maintaining the F. Holland Day Historic House Museum;
Collecting and preserving objects, artifacts, documents, photographs and memorabilia which relate to Norwood's history;
Conducting educational programs, special events and outreach;
Encouraging and promoting historical research and publications; and,
Serving as a resource for the preservation of local history.

The Digital Archives of the History of the Morrill Memorial Library
In his will dated 1812, Jabez Chickering leaves the bookcase and books of the Social Circulating Library of South Dedham (Norwood) to the Town of Norwood as the Norwood Library.
"The Morrill Memorial Library building was presented to the town by Mr. and Mrs. Geo. H. Morrill, in memory of their beloved daughter, Sarah Bond Morrill, who died of typhoid fever while on a pleasure trip in Florida, March 7, 1895. She was a beautiful young woman of 23 years, of great refinement, culture and high literary taste..."
