Ramadan Fasting
Muslims consume neither food nor water during the daylight hours during the holy month of Ramadan. A Muslim chaplain explains what it's like and how he began fasting during Ramadan at the age of seven. Fasting teaches many Muslims to focus on their relationship with God, to fight temptation, and to exercise self-control. They are encouraged to reach out to non-Muslims and those in need, and remember those who don't have enough food to eat. Those who cannot fast may choose to give money to the poor.
